Derek Rowe is a Australian creator, designer, writer and facilitator of innovative, learner-centred, workplace training and coaching solutions.

Derek’s path as an educator began more than 30 years ago, when his career began as a secondary school drama and media teacher with an art history major. This phase included a stint in Japan as an English teacher, as well as co-running a community school in a coast area of regional Victoria.
When his teaching career led him to participate in a release to industry program, Derek’s passion for learner-focused, adult education in a workplace setting was ignited. This next phase saw Derek overseeing national workplace training programs as an training designer and facilitator for leading companies like Coles and Bi-Lo supermarkets, and Country Road. During this period, it became clear that he had a particularly talent for developing his own training models and methodologies, that needed to be explored beyond a single organisation. So he took the leap to become his own boss, as a learning and development consultant.
That was 20 years ago, and he has never looked back.

Now in his fourth decade as an education professional, Derek’s focus remains on delivering bespoke solutions that put the learner, and their development needs, first.
He specialises in assisting team members and frontline-to-middle managers.
His IP is uniquely his own.
His style is informal and authentic.
Derek now lives in Albury, NSW with his wife, 5 cats, 2 dogs. He is ‘Pop"‘ to two youngsters, and dabbles in the local musical theatre and arts scene, when he is not writing music, lyrics or plays. He still travels to all capital cities to deliver his training and consulting services, but would also love to help as many local business and organisations who will let him!
